Centralized supervision of VPNs
The continuous increase of the electronic communication in all areas of economy, public institutions, banking, and the private sector calls for a more intensive administrative supervision of the data traffic with regard to the providers. Operating a VPN with two or more locations and mobile staff means that it is of a special importance for the administrator in charge to get concentrated information on the operational state of the supervised VPN.
Our VPN routers record all system-relevant incidents.
Incidents can be such as follows:
Entire maintenance- and configuration work on a VPN router
Establishing mobile and stationary VPN conncections
Carrying out key-change during running time
Safeguard actions against trials of attack on VPN routers
Recognized and fended off trials of spoofing, portscan-detection...
Looking at the complexity of a VPN with several stationary and mobile clients, it is obvious that the local administrator will be able with technical support only to react fast and, if necessary, use preventive measures against such incidents occuring.
One possible technical support is the central logfile server that was developed by us. From each of the VPN routers belonging to a VPN a dedicated log tunnel to a logfile server can be set up. All log incidents of all routers belonging to the VPN will be stored in a data base through these tunnels. So the local administrator is put in a position to call up any SQL information on the running time of the operating state of the VPN. Furthermore, the data base creates a high revision security with VPN networks with increased safety standards.
